It's been a little over eighteen months since I last updated my writing. I started Donkey Lane in 2016 as the story of a young married couple relocating to a small Greek Island. A couple escaping the banalities of life in the England in the hope of finding our own place in the world here in a little unknown corner of Greece.
For those interested in how that story went it can still be found here https://frompeckhamtopaxos.wordpress.com/ and for those not up to date with developments, the course of true love was true to expression. Lisa and I split in 2016, a little over two years after we were married on the pebbles of Monodendri and what followed was a different sort of story, one in which I committed to exploring the limitations of an island life on my own.
This winter will mark four years since then, and thankfully life has a new and far more interesting complexion. I have set up my on small business and have found a new passion in my food. Working as a Private Chef I am joined by my girlfriend Fotini, a native Paxiot and together we have been lucky enough to work in some of the most beautiful villas across the island, myself in the kitchen and Fotini bringing her unique and charming sense of hospitality to the equation.
With the onset of October and with the slackening of what seemed to have been our busiest season yet it seems an appropriate time to revisit my writing and to continue my own personal reflections on life, food and everything in between.
